China's JD.Com Opens Multiple Robot Repair Service Centers in Europe China's JD.Com Opens Multiple Robot Repair Service Centers in Europe

(Yicai) June 29 -- E-commerce giant JD.Com has launched robot maintenance services in Europe and opened JoyRobocare centers in several countries amid growing overseas sales of Chinese robots.

JD.Com has set up robot repair centers in Bedford in the United Kingdom and Duisburg in Germany, the Beijing-based company announced on June 27. It also launched "robot ambulance" services in major cities across several countries, including the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands.

Robot maintenance services will gradually expand to more countries and regions in Europe, as well as to markets in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, JD.Com noted.

JoyRobocare centers target humanoid and quadruped robots in Europe, with their application scenarios gradually expanding to include home, education, commercial, industrial manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, and security, JD.Com said. The "robot ambulance" offers a range of after-sales support services, including on-site delivery, equipment commissioning, maintenance, servicing, and recycling.

Thanks to the localized "robot ambulance" and repair center services, Chinese robots exported to Europe can have most faults repaired without the need to be returned to China, JD.Com said, noting that this will likely significantly reduce the maintenance and after-sales costs for local enterprise and consumer users.

JD.Com's pioneering robot repair service covers comprehensive maintenance needs, including basic repairs, fault diagnosis, battery replacement and recharging, testing and certification, cosmetic maintenance, and equipment recycling. The firm has established deep ties with most of China's leading robotics companies, including EngineAI Robotics Technology, Noetix Robotics Beijing Technology, Deep Robotics Technology, and AgiBot.

JD.Com's "robot ambulance" provided various repair services for over 300 participants during the humanoid robot half-marathon held in Beijing earlier this year.
