China’s Dynamic Electronics Surges After Doubling Investment in Thai AI PCB Plant Amid High Demand(Yicai) Jan. 7 -- Shares of Dynamic Electronics rose after the Chinese manufacturer of high-end printed circuit boards said it will double the investment in its new Thai factory for PCB products used in artificial intelligence computing equipment because of strong demand.
Dynamic Electronics [SHA: 603175] was trading up 9.4 percent at CNY74.85 (USD10.71) as of 1.25 p.m. in Shanghai today.
The annual production capacity of the new Thai plant will be increased to 166,500 from 117,400 square meters of high-end PCBs used in network communication, servers, and automotive electronics, with related investment jumping to CNY3.3 billion (USD474.5 million) from CNY1.5 billion, the firm announced yesterday. The construction period will be extended to 24 from 12 months.
Hiking investment in the Thai project will expand Dynamic Electronics’ production capacity for high-end multi-layer and advanced PCBs, helping it better meet the growing demand from potential customers, the company pointed out.
The Thai project will accelerate Dynamic Electronics’ deployment of PCB products in application scenarios, such as routers, AI servers, switches, and AI accelerator cards, and enhance its ability to accept overseas orders and deepen strategic partnerships with international clients, the firm added.
The announcement was released less than two months after Dynamic Electronics unveiled the initial plan for the new Thai factory.
The company had a PCB production capacity of just over three million sqm in 2024, with overseas sales nearing CNY3.3 billion, accounting for 83 percent of its annual revenue, according to the listing prospectus released last October. Half of the overseas sales came from Asian clients.
Dynamic Electronics’ two main clients are German auto parts supplier Continental and US manufacturing giant Jabil, with US electric vehicle maker Tesla also being a main buyer. The firm has also established long-term and stable partnerships with leading solar panel suppliers, such as BOE Technology Group and LG, and data storage giants, including Seagate, Western Digital, and SK Hynix.
