(Yicai) June 6 -- Shares of Shiji Information Technology soared by the daily trading limit after the Chinese developer of software for hospitality and catering firms said Marriott International Administrative Services will use its next-generation hotel property management system in China.
Shiji [SHE: 002153] closed up 10 percent at CNY9.01 (USD1.25) in Shenzhen today.
Shiji has become the preferred PMS provider of Marriott’s directly managed and franchised hotels in China under a software-as-a-service partnership model, the Beijing-based company announced yesterday, citing a deal its subsidiary Shiji US signed with Marriott on the same day.
The Marriott hotels in China that decide to use Daylight PMS will enter into individual agreements with Shiji to obtain personalized solutions and products, the firm noted.
This deal marks a big milestone in the company’s efforts to globalize its hotel PMS, Shiji said, adding that the long-term collaboration with Marriott will establish it as a global leader in the next-generation hotel PMS field, encouraging more high-end hotels to adopt its solutions. Moreover, the deal will bring Shiji sustained financial benefits.
Before Marriott, other luxury and upscale hotel groups, including InterContinental Hotels Group, had selected Daylight PMS as their preferred PMS.
