(Yicai Global) Sept. 17 -- Shares of Shiji Information Technology rose by the daily trading limit after the Chinese information technology provider announced a deal with InterContinental Hotels Group to use its new hotel management system.

Shiji Information [SHE:002153] closed up 10 percent today at CNY19.46 (USD3), valuing the Beijing-based business at CNY26.2 billion (USD4.06 billion).

Subsidiary Shiji US and IHG’s Six Continents Hotels signed the five-year agreement on Sept. 15, according to a statement from Shiji Information. The unit will provide its cloud-based hotel information management system Shiji Enterprise Platform, along with software and hardware supply services.

Shiji Singapore penned a similar deal a year ago with HSH Management Services, which provides services to The Peninsula Hotels.

Shiji Information said the IHG agreement shows recognition of its product quality from another leading global hotel group. IHG is one of the world's largest, with 5,955 hotels in over 100 countries as of the end of June.
