Bynav Technology Debuts Smaller and More Integrated Positioning Module at Shanghai Auto Show Bynav Technology Debuts Smaller and More Integrated Positioning Module at Shanghai Auto Show

(Yicai Global) April 21 -- China’s Bynav Technology, a firm specializing in high-precision positioning solutions, unveiled its new smaller, more integrated, and better cost performance high-precision car positioning module at the 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition.

The P-Module M2 is about 73 percent smaller than other positioning modules, allowing carmakers to save space for other parts and cut costs when designing vehicles, said Xiang Wei, CEO of the Changsha-based firm. It is also easier to install and manage, he added.

Bynav develops high-precision positioning-related products and supplies high-precision positioning services for smart and self-driving cars, drones, and other uses. Its products have been exported to more than 40 countries and regions worldwide.

Reducing product costs through integration is Bynav’s future development path and will also be a trend in the intelligent car system design, Xiang noted.

High-precision positioning services are mostly used in vehicles priced above CNY300,000 (USD43,600), but Bynav’s P-Module M2 can be used in cars costing between CNY100,000 and CNY200,000, Xiang pointed out.

The P-Module M2 has two chip components, Alice GNSS SoC and MEMS IMU, which are both self-developed, according to Xiang.

The Alice chip has greater navigation accuracy and stronger anti-interference capability in urban areas. Its satellite-based augmentation system uses a single chip that integrates the functions of three chips, and is capable of global high-precision positioning without the need for networking.
