Chinese Defense Firm Huaxun Fangzhou Sets Up Simulation Lab for Space Safety in Nanjing Chinese Defense Firm Huaxun Fangzhou Sets Up Simulation Lab for Space Safety in Nanjing

(Yicai Global) Sept. 22 -- Shenzhen-based defense company Huaxun Fangzhou Co. [SHE:000687] has established a space safety simulation laboratory and an innovation base for the development of dual-use technologies for civilian and military applications in Nanjing, the capital of China's eastern Jiangsu province, Shanghai Securities reported on Sept. 21.

Huaxun Fangzhou, which leads the country's virtual simulation technology sector, has also entered into partnerships with a number of research institutes, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, to develop simulation platforms, firefighting solutions, firewall systems, wearable weapons and smart military camps.

The lab's establishment reflects the firm's strong research capabilities in the simulation, aerospace, communications and security sectors, said market insiders.

It also indicates that private companies have moved from low-end complementary equipment manufacturing to high-end research activities in the defense sector, with growing civil and military cooperation.

Huaxun Fangzhou, founded in 2007, makes communication equipment used in a number of key Chinese satellite projects, as well as special chips and smart systems, which are widely used in military devices such as underwater torpedoes.
