Chinese Mainland Markets End Higher as Soybean, Animal Vaccines, Banks Lead Gains

(Yicai Global) April 27 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland closed higher this afternoon with banks and companies working with soybean and animal vaccines among the biggest gainers.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.25 percent to 2,815.49 on turnover of CNY225 billion (USD32 billion), while the Shenzhen Component Index ended 0.28 percent higher at 10,452.17 with a trading volume of CNY331.4 billion. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, increased by 0.74 percent to 2,018.67 with CNY108.1 billion worth of shares swapping hands.

Military sectors and companies focused primarily on developing the Hainan islands were the biggest losers.
