Chinese Mainland Stock Markets Open Lower

(Yicai Global) April 21 - Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened lower this morning, with stocks in the mining and communication sectors leading gainers.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.36 percent lower at 2,842.24, while the Shenzhen Component Index started down 0.41 percent at 10,577.72. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, started the day 0.38 percent weaker at 2,035.77.
