(Yicai Global) May 8 -- Major stock indexes on the Chinese mainland are showing signs of a rebound in the morning session after opening around 2 percent down.
The Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.8 percent at 2,903.24 as of 10.30 a.m., fighting back from a low of 2,866. The Shenzhen Component Index was down 0.15 percent at 9,075.80 after slipping to 8,873, while the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, was down 0.3 percent at 1,499.72 after opening at 1,469.
Market confidence has been shook by the performance of major stock indexes in Japan, Europe and the US, which all plunged by more than one percent yesterday.
