(Yicai  Global) Oct. 10 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland moved higher in morning trade today with tech-heavy growth stocks the largest gainers.

The Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.19 percent at 2,930.35 going into the lunch break, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished 0.45 percent stronger at 9,549.21. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, led the pack as it closed up 1.70 percent at 1,649.99.
