Chinese Mainland Stocks Slump at Midday(Yicai Global) Oct. 22 -- Stock markets on China's mainland slipped this morning as half-hearted bargain-hunting failed to haul major indexes back onto positive ground.
Growth stocks came under relatively stronger selling pressure this morning as the Star 50 Index, which tracks tech stocks on Shanghai’s Nasdaq-style board, fell 1.1 percent to 1,381.59 at the lunch bell, while the Shenzhen market’s growth enterprise-tracking ChiNext Price Index shed 1.37 percent to fall to 2,663.59.
The Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.83 percent to 3,297.32 at the break, while the Shenzhen Component Index stood 0.94 percent lower at 13,341.23.
