(Yicai Global) Oct.31 -- Shanghai Quqi Network Technology Co.'s online event ticketing platform, tking.cn, secured USD25 million in its series B+ round of financing, which Qiming Ventures Partners and Beijing-based Prometheus Capital LLC led.

The platform will continue to optimize its products and services, allowing more people to go to shows on the cheap, tking.cn founder and Chief Executive Cui Jiefu said. Offering discounted tickets is the site's main competitive edge, Cui said. The event ticketing platform hopes to improve user experience by providing more convenience for users in terms of choosing ideal seats, after-sales services and flexible ticket collection, 36Kr reported today.

Founded in July 2015, tking.cn connects event ticket aggregators and wholesalers directly with end users to bring them discounts. In this way, parties with tickets can adjust their offers flexibly according to market demand, and consumers can buy tickets more quickly and at lower prices.

Over the past two years, the online event ticketing platform sold more than 2.5 million tickets, of which 92 percent were at discounted prices, saving consumers more than USD15.15 million (CNY100 million).

Hundreds of thousands of attendees decided to go to events because of discounts, and this boosted attendance by 15 percent to 20 percent, tking.cn data show. The platform's quarterly trading maintained a rapid growth rate of 50 percent this year and transactions in the third quarter amounted to CNY140 million, Cui said.

China's performing arts market was worth CNY46.9 billion last year, and that figure will exceed CNY50 billion (excluding sports markets) this year, per China Association of Performing Arts data.
