(Yicai Global) June 28 -- The Chinese Police has turned to Internet of Things public security solutions provider Gosun Telecommunications for a range of robots that can be used for patrolling and surveillance.

The Shenzhen-based company has won a tender for the supply of unmanned bots capable of carrying out facial recognition, automatic patrol and video surveillance, the public security ministry said in a statement without providing further details on specific products and technologies.

Gosun will supply the robots between now and the end of 2020 official procurement contracts are yet to be signed.
