(Yicai Global) Jan. 16 -- China's Stock Markets held to their sidewinding course today, with benchmark indexes virtually unchanged at the final ring.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,570.42 points, on a par with its opening and with trading volume of CNY126.9 billion (USD18.8 billion). The Shenzhen Component Index ended up 0.09 percent lower at 7,540.45 points after churning over CNY177.8 billion.

The ChiNext Index, China's Nasdaq-style board of growth companies, inched up 0.08 percent to 1,267.30 points at the finish with CNY53.1 billion swapped.

Enlivened by President Xi Jinping's inspection tour of the Xiongan New Area an hour's drive southwest of Beijing, the development fulcrum of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Economic Area, Xiongan-linked Stocks bubbled up in afternoon trading.
