(Yicai Global) July 7 -- China's mainland stock markets continued to open higher today, and trading volume exceeded CNY500 billion within half an hour after the starting bell.

The Shanghai Composite Index kicked off 1.44 percent higher at 3,380.95. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 13,084.65, up 1.1 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, set out up 0.75 percent at 2,548.41.

Securities stocks dropped on average over 3 percent, while insurance firms and banks stayed buoyed over 2 percent. Liquor and beverage shares led the gainers with an over 4 percent climb.
