Chinese Stocks Open in a Hodgepodge as Techs Lead(Yicai Global) Dec. 21 -- China's mainland stock markets opened in a mix this morning as Shenzhen's tech board was the star performer.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.01 percent lower at 3,394.39. The Shenzhen Component Index started off at 13,858.66, up 0.03 percent, and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, rose 0.32 percent to 2,789.64.
Photovoltaics led the markets through the starting gate as leading solar tech firm Longi Green Energy Technology [SHA:601012] opened 8.05 percent higher at CNY84 (USD12.9) after the company yesterday announced Hillhouse Capital will buy a 6 percent stake in it for CNY15.8 billion (US2.4 billion).
