(Yicai Global) Aug. 10 -- Chinese mainland stock indexes ended a heated trading day mixed with the tech-heavy ChiNext Price Index finishing its third downward day in a row.
The ChiNext, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, fell 0.53 percent to 2,735.26.
The Shanghai Composite Index and the Shenzhen Component Index both reversed their earlier losses while the two cities' bourses logged the ninth straight day of their combined turnover exceeding CNY1 trillion (USD143.5 billion). The SSE Composite Index rose 0.75 percent to 3,379.25, and the latter climbed 0.06 percent to 13,657.31.
The Star 50 Index, which tracks growth stocks on the SSE's Nasdaq-style Star Market, edged up 0.58 percent to 1,535.60 after a volatile day.
