(Yicai Global) Nov. 11 -- Chinese stock markets closed lower dragged down by the ChiNext and Star Market, which dropped in lockstep with the fall in US tech shares yesterday.

The Shanghai Composite Index ended 0.53 percent down at 3,342.2, while the Shenzhen Component Index slid 1.95 percent to 13,720.17.

The Star 50 Index, which tracks tech stocks listed on Shanghai’s Nasdaq-style Star Market, dropped 3.22 percent to 1,395.51 as the Shenzhen market’s growth enterprise ChiNext Price Index shed 3.31 percent to 2,681.52.

US tech shares closed down last night as investors shunted funds from them to cyclical stocks after news of Pizer's vaccine breakthrough stoked hopes of an economic upturn.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index closed up 0.9 percent last night, while the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 1.37 percent. The S&P 500 finished up 0.14 percent lower.
