(Yicai Global) Nov. 3 -- Chrysler China Automobile Trading Co. has filed a recall plan to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, the country's quality watchdog, and will recall a number of Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot models made between August 2009 and August 2014 and imported into China.
The automaker will begin the recall from Nov. 6.
Some 148,000 vehicles will be recalled in the mainland, data from the company shows. If one of the vehicle crashes, its occupant restraint system may short circuit, resulting in the airbag and seatbelt pre-tensioner not functioning properly and increasing the risk of injury.
Chrysler will replace the defect components free of charge with an improved controller.
