(Yicai Global) Nov. 6 -- China's stock markets closed on a sour note, but military industry shares rose in a bid to stem the rout.
The Shanghai Composite Index ended down 0.43 percent at 2,978.6, while the Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.78 percent to 9,860.97 at the finish. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks Shenzhen-listed growth enterprises, slid 0.6 percent to 1,703.02.
Defense industry shares soared 2.73 percent despite the market's downdrafts.
