(Yicai Global) May 21 -- Didi Chuxing, China's leading ride-hailing operator, has set up a new subsidiary, Beijing Didi Woya Technology, with CNY10 million (USD1.4 million) in registered capital, to develop self-driving technology and related businesses, data on company information platform Tianyancha show.
This is the e-taxi service provider's second autonomous driving branch. The first, Shanghai Didi Woya Technology, formed in March last year.
Didi started developing self-driving technology in 2016. It has gained testing licenses in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and California since then and has a research team with over 200 staffers.
