(Yicai Global) Sept. 27 -- US tech giant Equinix will form a Chinese joint venture for internet data center services with local data industry-related technology provider Datang Gohigh.

Equinix's Hong Kong unit will set up the CNY10 million (USD1.48 million) JV in Shanghai with Datang Gohigh Information Technology, the Beijing-based firm said in a statement, adding that the pair will hold equal 50 percent stakes.

Datang Gohigh IT will put forward candidates to serve as chairman and financial director while Equinix will appoint the vice chairman, the general manager, the directors for operational and legal matters.

Establishing the JV with a senior partner in the industry will help promote the core competitiveness and sales of Datang Gohigh's own-brand servers, the announcement said.
