(Yicai Global) Aug. 15 -- China Evergrande Real Estate Group Ltd. signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with McDonald's China Co. Ltd and McDonald's China controller, CITIC Group Corp. Ltd.

McDonald's will open McDonald's restaurants in Evergrande's real estate projects nationwide and it will provide prioritized locations for the former's restaurants, McDonald's (China) told media Aug. 14.

CITIC Group Corp.'s CITIC Ltd. [HK:0267], CITIC Capital Holdings Ltd., The Carlyle Group [NASDAQ:CG] and McDonald's Corp. [NYSE:MCD] announced a strategic cooperation and the formation of a new partnership, which spent up to USD2.08 billion (HKD16.14 billion) to acquire McDonald's mainland China and Hong Kong businesses. The deal is expected to finish this month. McDonald's (China) has publicly said it plans to open 2,000 new restaurants in mainland China in the next five years.
