(Yicai Global) Sept. 21 -- Chinese apparel brand Ningbo Peacebird Fashion Co. [SHA:603877] has reached a strategic cooperation deal with Tmall, the e-commerce marketplace belonging to Chinese internet giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA], the former said in a press briefing on Sept. 20.

The pair will carry out a new retail cooperation plan encompassing brand building, Big Data, consumer operations, online and offline channel convergence, and international expansion.

Peacebird aims to increase its annual online retail sales for 2017 to CNY3 billion (USD456 million) through the plan, and aims to bring online and offline revenues of CNY10 billion (USD1.52 billion) by 2020.

Tmall accounts for nearly 80 percent of sales in China's online clothes market, according to a report by digital consulting and research firm Analysys.

Strategic cooperation with Tmall will give Peacebird access to more exclusive resources than other apparel brands and help the fashion firm quickly increase its market share.

Peacebird plans to upgrade and digitalize its more than 4,000 offline stores to provide intelligent shopping guides that recommend clothing for consumers, said Zhang Jiangping company chair.

Stores will also offer virtual reality glasses so consumers can see how they look in products without actually trying them on. They will also be able to make orders online based on offline experiences and have the goods delivered to their homes.
