(Yicai Global) Jan. 22 -- The first instrument-calibration test plane landed at Beijing Daxing International Airport today, thus inaugurating the facility's flight inspections, and moving it into the delivery phase, local media Beijing Daily reported.
Flight inspections refers to testing and adjusting of ground radio devices and navigational lighting aids via special airborne verification equipment to obtain all technical parameters and information about communications, navigation and monitoring equipment.
The reviews that began today will wrap up on March 15, per the report.
The airport's flight procedures and navigational support systems will qualify for flight services after the examniations finish, and Daxing International will conduct further test flights and other checks, per standard practices.
The airport, which broke ground in 2014, is a super-large international integrated aviation transport hub built to meet rising demand for air transport in the Chinese capital. It will be completed on June 30 and commissioned on Sept. 30.
