(Yicai Global) March 26 -- Gaobo Healthcare Group, a unit of Hillhouse capital, broke ground on China's first international research hospital yesterday in Beijing's northern Changping district, Economic Daily reported.

The healthcare facility will engage in clinical trials of new drugs and translation of clinical discovery and research results, and diagnose and treat difficult and severe diseases from around the world. Planned to occupy nearly 10,000 square meters and house 500 beds, the research and treatment complex is expected to be completed and start operating by the end of 2022.

The local government invested in the project, but the amounts of this and the shareholding structure are thus far still under wraps.
