(Yicai) June 12 -- Global Connect Show X, a special branch under business networking event series Global Connect Show, made its debut in the United Kingdom, focusing on what Chinese brands should do to expand overseas in the era of artificial intelligence and geopolitical uncertainties.

The event, held at London Business School in partnership with the UK National Committee on China on June 10, brought together around 100 business leaders, tech founders, investors, policy experts, and media, delivering a fringe program alongside London Tech Week under the theme "Between the UK and China: Building Trusted Global Brands in the Age of AI and Geopolitics."

Discussions during the event covered how brands can build credibility in complex regulated markets, what companies often underestimate when entering the UK and Europe, and why London is uniquely placed to help support and nurture the next generation of Asian tech firms going global.

"China and Asia are hotbeds of technology innovation, pioneering products and services that consumers and businesses in the West could benefit from, however concerns around AI and the constantly changing geopolitical situation are getting in the way," said Chris Pereira, founder and chief executive of GCS. "Now more than ever, businesses must do more to build trust.

"This is why I created GCS: to provide a global platform for technology companies to meet their peers and local stakeholders in person and build trust," he noted.

"London remains one of the few global hubs still built on trust, offering a unique platform for brands and organizations to build credibility, navigate complexity, and scale internationally," said Oliver Pearce, manager of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and head of media relations at GCS. "London has the talent, the language, the legal system, the media, banking and finance networks, all the ingredients needed to build global connections."

GCS will continue its year-round cadence into global tech and consumer-electronics hubs, including London, New York, Berlin, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Dubai, extending to the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next January, building a stable, ongoing pathway for Chinese innovation firms to go global.
