(Yicai Global) Dec. 29 -- Use of yuan in international trade increased 1.75 percent last month over October, to rank the currency sixth in global transaction use, compared to its placement in the fifth slot the same time last year, yuan tracking indicators the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication issued yesterday show.

Yuan use fell to 1.46 percent in October from September, when it ranked seventh in global transaction use, a nadir since April 2014.

The dollar's market share dropped to 39.3 percent, the lowest since November 2013, and the euro dropped to its perigee since April, while the Canadian dollar fell to eighth place, the lowest in its history.
