(Yicai Global) Aug. 11 -- Guizhou Broadcasting & TV Information Network Co. [SHA:600996], a local radio and television broadcaster in southwest China, has partnered with leading Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co. to develop information and communication technologies.

The network operator struck a deal with the Shenzhen-based tech giant on Aug. 8 to kick off technical exchanges covering the Internet of Things, cloud computing and Big Data operations under China's 'smart city' initiative, the listed firm said on Aug. 9.

Under the agreement, Huawei will take priority over other companies to participate in information and communication technology projects led by Guizhou Broadcasting, and will leverage its advanced technology to provide highly competitive products and services to help its partner build industry-leading IT capabilities.

The broadcaster's share price hit the 10-percent limit up yesterday, the day after announcing the partnership.
