(Yicai Global) Feb. 6 -- Shares of HopeRun Software, a Chinese information technology provider, surged by their daily trading limit after its new financial services operating system, which is based on Huawei Technology’s OpenHarmony OS, received compliance certification.

After soaring by as much as 20 percent this morning, HopeRun [SHE: 300339] ended up 17.4 percent at CNY27.28 (USD4.01) a share, taking its gains so far this year to 47 percent.

HiHopeOS passed the tests of the Financial Information Technology Innovation Ecological Laboratory, becoming the first Chinese OS to meet the lab’s requirements and paving the way for it to be installed in devices such as smart point of sales machines, the company said late yesterday.

The certification will help HopeRun develop software products and solutions for the financial industry, the Nanjing-based firm added, noting that it will continue to work with Huawei to promote product and application innovations and help the financial sector in achieving the Internet of Everything.

OpenHarmony is an open-source version of the HarmonyOS independently developed by Chinese telecoms giant Huawei and donated to the OpenAtom Foundation, an independent non-profit organization set up in June 2020 by Huawei, Alibaba Group Holding, Baidu, Inspur Group, Qihoo 360 Technology, Tencent Holdings, China Merchants Bank, and others.
