(Yicai) July 6 -- The 2026 ABB Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile Formula E World Championship Shanghai E-Prix was held at the Shanghai International Circuit over the past weekend, when rain brought about great challenges for drivers and excitement for spectators.

Twenty world-class drivers from 10 top teams competed fiercely in front of over 45,000 fans. Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein won the first round on July 4, while LOLA Yamaha team's veteran Lucas di Grassi won the second round yesterday.

Formula E is the world's first all-electric FIA World Championship and the only sport certified with a net-zero carbon footprint since its inception. It serves as a cutting-edge testing platform for carmakers to verify their electrification capabilities and intelligent driving technologies.

This season, the FIA Formula E will have 12 stops in as many cities worldwide. The event has been using GEN3 racing cars since 2021, and it will introduce new-generation GEN4 racing cars next year.
