(Yicai) March 29 -- The future of China’s and the world’s economy was among a number of important issues discussed by government ministers and chief economists at an ongoing forum in southern Hainan province.

Albert Park, chief economist at Asian Development Bank, and former French Prime Minister Jean Pierre Raffarin were among the many dignitaries who shared their expertise during a panel on China’s economic outlook.

The panel was hosted by Chen Sijie, chief executive officer of financial news outlet Yicai Media Group, at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024 which ends today.

Major global issues are discussed by panelists at the Boao Forum which has the theme ‘Asia and the World: Common Challenges, Shared Responsibility’ this year.

Raffarin, also a member of the Boao Forum for Asia Council of Advisors, gave his view on world affairs.

Steven Alan Barnett, the International Monetary Fund’s senior resident representative in China, reacts to comments from the panelists.
