(Yicai Global) July 25 -- China's largest video website iQIYI.com signed a deal with the Association of Tennis Professionals to become the sporting body's exclusive media partner in mainland China from 2017 to 2020.

After cash troubles saw the ATP cut ties with LeEco's sports division, a number of firms sought to take on its broadcasting rights, Chinese news outlet The Paper reported yesterday.

However, the Baidu-backed [NASDAQ:BIDU] firm hasn't disclosed the value of the deal in a bid to maintain its commercial secrets.

"iQIYI will continue its focus on high-end events, but now has the upper hand in tennis," a source from company said.

The company has a niche in high-end sports, such as tennis, golf, American football, horse-riding, racing and extreme sports. It also holds tennis ties with the Women's Tennis Association and the China Open.

In 2015, LeEco's LeTV Sports acquired the exclusive rights to the ATP World Tour from 2016 to 2020 for USD20 million a year. However, a major cash struggle saw its broadcasting rights suspended during the ATP World Tour Masters 1000, held in Shanghai in October 2016. The rights haven't been restored since.
