(Yicai Global) Aug. 6 -- Softbank and KDDI, two of Japan's leading telecoms operators, plan to begin sales of Huawei Technologies' P30 Lite after delaying their launches of the latest smartphone series since May, the People's Daily Online reported.
KDDI said sales will start on Aug. 8, the report said, citing Japan's Asahi newspaper, while Softbank President Masayoshi Son made his firm's announcement at a press conference yesterday. Japan's NTT Docomo has not unveiled any plans to start selling the P30 Lite.
KDDI decided to move ahead after confirming that Huawei has updated the handset's security performance and will continue to use Google's application software services, according to the report.
