(Yicai Global) Oct. 26 -- E-commerce giant JD.com Inc. [NASDAQ:JD], courier giant S.F. Holding Co. [SHE:002352] and other major couriers have signed strategic partnership agreements with the Air Force Logistics Department of China to cooperate in smart logistics and drone delivery services.

JD.com will supply intelligent logistics solutions for the Air Force Logistics Department, and provide emergency support and improved procurement channels for logistics and equipment procurement, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday.

The parties will also work together to build platforms for real-time logistics information sharing and data visualization under the premise that the military information is secured. JD.com will also give personnel training services for the logistics department.

S.F. Holdings will work with the logistics department to explore emergency delivery, unmanned aircraft delivery and other new means of logistics for civil air cargos. The firm has received the military's permission to operate commercial drones in Nankang district of Ganzhou, in Southeast China's Jiangxi province, and has signed a drone headquarters base project with Shuangliu district government of Chengdu, in southwestern Sichuan province.

S.F. Holdings has previously undertaken several military and civilian cooperation projects. A special logistics division has been set up to understand military logistics needs by visiting military units.
