(Yicai Global) June 14 -- China's second-biggest e-commerce giant JD.Com will team up with Esun Display to develop 3D presentation capabilities on its online shopping platform.
The pair will develop 3D technologies, including virtual fitting rooms, and extend their usage to merchants and partners, the Shenzhen-based screenmaker said in a statement.
The two firms will set up a joint engineering laboratory in the city of Xingtai in northern China's Hebei province to develop these technologies. They will aim to earn financial and policy support from the city's municipal government for the project.
The firms did not disclose the financial scope of the contract, but said that the eventual intellectual property rights will be shared.
