(Yicai Global) April 20 -- KFC will launch an artificial meat product in China, the fast food giant announced on its official account on Tencent Holding’s popular WeChat messaging app today.

The chicken flavored vegetable protein product will sell at a test price of CNY1.99 (28 US cents) for 5 pieces. KFC is currently accepting pre-orders. It will appear in designated outlets in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen by the end of this month.
