Leapmotor Maintains Its Lead Over Chinese NEV Startups for Ninth Month in November(Yicai) Dec. 2 -- Leapmotor is consolidating its lead over other Chinese new energy vehicle startups, remaining the best-seller for the ninth straight month in November.
Leapmotor’s deliveries surged 75 percent to 70,327 units last month from a year earlier, setting a new monthly record.
Nio achieved 36,275 deliveries in November, up 76 percent from a year earlier but down 10 percent from October, mainly because deliveries of models under its new Onvo brand declined 32 percent to 11,794 units from the previous month.
Xpeng Motor delivered 36,729 units last month, up 19 percent from the same period last year but down 13 percent from the previous month. Meanwhile, Li Auto’s deliveries fell 32 percent to 33,181 percent in November from a year earlier, but rose 4 percent from October.
Huawei Technologies’ Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, which is responsible for the Aito, Luxeed, Maextro, Stelato, and Shangjie brands in collaboration with Chinese automakers Seres Group, Chery Automobile, JAC Motors, BAIC Group, and SAIC Motor, respectively, achieved record deliveries of 81,864 units in November.
Xiaomi Auto delivered more than 40,000 units in November, remaining above this threshold for the third consecutive month. Xiaomi’s Chairman and Chief Executive Lei Jun recently said that Xiaomi Auto is expected to deliver more than 400,000 units this year.
Zeekr Technology Group, the NEV arm of Geely Automobile managing the Zeekr and Lynk & Co brands, saw its November deliveries widen 7 percent from a year earlier and 4 percent from October to 63,902 units. Of them, 35,059 were under the Lynk & Co brand, and 28,843 were under the Zeekr brand.
In the first 11 months of the year, Leapmotor achieved its annual delivery target of 500,000 units ahead of schedule. Xpeng also hit its 2025 goal of 380,000 units.
Meanwhile, Nio and Li Auto remained far behind. Nio originally planned to deliver 440,000 units this year, but it only achieved 63 percent of the target as of Nov. 30. Li Auto aimed to deliver 700,000 units, but it is only about halfway through.
