(Yicai Global) Nov. 24 -- Kampo Imaging, a comprehensive medical imaging enterprise, has secured nearly CNY100 million (USD15.1 million) in A-round financing, exclusively through Yueyin VC, venture capital media outlet PEdaily.cn reported yesterday.

"In the next 3 years, the group will deploy its nationwide medical imaging centers to improve patients' experience, while the company will also strengthen R&D, recruit scientists from all over the world, and intensively develop the artificial intelligence (AI) sector," said Sun Zhaochang, founder of Campo Imaging.

Kampo Imaging, founded in June 2010, is a subsidiary of Liaoning Kampo Medical System Co., and engages in the R&D and manufacture of medical imaging equipment and the development of third-party medical image centers.

The development of the third party medical image center originated in the US over 30 years ago, and is still an emerging sector in China. The Chinese government has previously introduced policies to support its development.

"Revenue from the medical image business of China's hospitals is next only to the medicine. It has already formed a market volume of CNY400 billion. The market will develop, driven by demand, policies and other factors," said Zheng Yufen, chief executive of Yueyin.
