Nearly Half of 65,000 Positions Up for Grabs at Guangdong Job Fair Offer Annual Wage of Over USD28,525(Yicai) Dec. 29 -- Shenzhen hosted the autumn edition of the Millions of Talents Gather in Guangdong large comprehensive job fair, with 1,825 employers offering over 65,000 high-quality positions, nearly half of which had annual salaries exceeding CNY200,000 (USD28,525).
More than 4,000 jobs at the two-day fair that ended yesterday had salaries of between CNY500,000 and CNY1,000,000 (USD71,140 and USD142,280) a year, while the pay exceeded CNY1,000,000 at over 600 positions. The event attracted more than 120,000 students from over 1,700 domestic and overseas universities.
Attendees included more than 40 Fortune Global 500 companies, including locally based Huawei Technologies, Tencent Holding, and BYD, over 300 listed companies such as TCL Technology and Ubtech Robotics, more than 400 “specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative” firms like Deeproute.AI, over 250 central government- and state-owned enterprises, including China General Nuclear Power and China Southern Power Grid, as well as more than 50 research institutes, over 360 colleges, and some hospitals. They covered areas from high-end technology research and development to traditional manufacturing, financial services, medical care, and education.
The fair offered nearly 9,000 positions for doctoral students, over 12,000 jobs for people with master’s degrees, more than 35,000 posts for those with bachelor’s degrees, and over 8,000 spots for students from junior colleges. It also provided more than 10,000 internship opportunities for students who will graduate in 2027, covering cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence algorithms and mechanical design.
A Chain Master Enterprises zone was set up for the first time, with eight chain master enterprises, including BYD, Gree Electric Appliances, Tencent, and CSG, along with over 80 upstream and downstream firms in their supply chains, offering one-stop services to job seekers to reach positions along the supply chains. An APEC Talent Matching Service zone was also formed, gathering 34 foreign-funded companies from member countries of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in Guangdong and Chinese firms with intentions to develop overseas.
The fair adopted a combination of offline and online methods, with recruitment platform Boss Zhipin inviting multiple company leaders to hold job interviews and issue offers, while 14 firms organized a livestream to release over 3,000 positions online, with four interview booths connecting students from around the world with 30 key companies in real-time. More than 7,800 firms offered nearly 200,000 jobs online.
