(Yicai Global) Jan. 17 -- Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. is looking to hire two research specialists aged over 60 for its Taobao e-commerce platform. Square dance leaders and neighborhood committee members will be preferred.
The advertised salary is CNY350,000 (USD54,360) to CNY400,000 a year. That's well-above China's average wage, which stood at CNY91,980 in the first quarter of 2017, according to careers website Zhaopin.
The successful candidates will work on the family version of Taobao's mobile product from the perspective of middle-aged and senior people. Taobao has a solid base of younger users. They will be expected to host regular seminars or small classes to encourage older people to use the product and share their opinions. Through surveys, interviews and other quantitative research, they will also provide feedback on user expectations and experience.
"Everyone's views are valued," Alibaba says in the Careers section of its English language website. "Employees are our greatest assets."

Taobao's family version went online along with its family account early this month. It is aimed at bringing different age groups together and achieving more concrete and complex user experience through targeted operations.
