(Yicai Global) Oct. 11 -- China's central bank Governor Yi Gang met with the United States Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin during the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

The pair traded views on economic and financial issues, according to a statement posted on the People's Bank of China's website today which did not disclose further details.

The annual meetings began taking place on Oct. 8 and will run until Oct. 14 in Nusa Dua, Bali. They bring together a host of figureheads from central banks, finance and develop ministries, parliaments, the private sector and civil society organizations to discuss topics of global concern, such as the world economy and financial system, according to the IMF website.

Yi also met with John Williams, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the central bank added in a separate statement.

"They exchanged views on recent economic and financial developments in their respective economies and discussed monetary policy as well as other related issues," it said.
