(Yicai Global) Nov. 26 -- QuantumCTek, Goke Microelectronics and Unisplendour, which were among 12 Chinese quantum computing companies added to the US’ so-called Entity List earlier this week over national security concerns, have said they expect the impact on their operations and sales to be controllable.
QuantumCTek’s core components for its quantum secure communications products and quantum computing control systems are produced domestically, the Hefei, eastern Anhui province-based firm said yesterday. The firm also has locally-produced alternatives for some general purpose imported components. Being included in the US Entity List will not affect its production and sales, the firm added.
Goke is looking into the possible risks of being included in the Entity List, but it will not directly affect the sales of its products and services, the Changsha, central Hunan province-based chipmaker said.
Unisplendour’s subsidiary New H3C’s semiconductor business is independent from its information and communications technology business, so the blacklisting has no material adverse impact on the company’s operations and finances, the Beijing-based electronics manufacturer said.
A total of 27 entities and individuals, including 12 from China, were added to the Entity List on Nov. 24 for allegedly providing quantum computing tech to support military programs in China, Pakistan and Iran. Inclusion on the list bars US companies from buying their products and from selling them their hardware and software.
China strongly protests the US Department of Commerce’s sanctions that hinder the security of the global industrial chain and supply chain as well as the recovery of the world economy and will lodge solemn representations with the US, Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Shu Jueting said yesterday.
QuantemCTek’s share price [SHE:688027] was trading up 4.93 percent at 2 p.m. China time today at CNY193.13 (USD30), while Unisplendour [SHE:000938] nudged up 0.84 percent at CNY25.34. Goke [SHE:300672] was trading down 3 percent CNY183 (USD28).
