(Yicai Global) Oct. 19 -- The second section of the Bejaia Highway connecting line project in Algeria contracted by China Railway International Group and built by China Railway No. 17 Bureau Group Co. has officially opened, the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) said.

The Bejaia Highway connecting line, which starts from Bejaia port and connects with Algeria's East-West Highway to the south, is the local government's primary project. It has a total length of 100 km and links five cities.

The 10-km road section is the second priority section opened after the first-priority segment of 42 km opened on March 2. Section D connects the two important cities of Bejaia and Bouira in Bejaia province.

China Railway Construction Corp. (International) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corp. [SHA:601186].
