(Yicai Global) May 22 -- Henan Senyuan Electric and its partner have won the bidding for the CNY85 million (USD12.32 million) Nepal power grid contract. 

The Nepal Electricity Authority has sent the bid acceptance letter to Senyuan Electric, the electric equipment supplier said in a statement late yesterday. The company will assume engineering, procurement and construction of 13 substations for a 226-kilometer-long 33-kilovolt electric line in Bharatpur and another 10 regions of Nepal. The construction will last 18 months, Senyuan Electric said.

The project will be settled in both US dollars and Nepalese rupees, including USD6 million and NPR702 million (USD6.3 million).

Changge, Henan province-based Senyuan Electric will shoulder the tasks of project design, equipment procurement, transport and coordination. Its partner Sichuan Electric Power Transmission and Transformation Construction will be responsible for on-site construction, installation and equipment commissioning, Senyuan Electric said, but without providing information on profit distribution and other details.

This, the company's first overseas power transmission and transformation project, will lay a solid foundation for its foreign expansion, it added.
