(Yicai Global) May 5 -- Shanghai discovered one imported novel coronavirus case yesterday, taking the eastern city's confirmed exotic case total to 317, its municipal health commission said this morning.

The new sufferer is a Chinese citizen studying in the US who traveled back to Shanghai on April 28, according to the commission.

Authorities have traced 45 people in close contact with this patient during the journey and placed them under quarantine, the public health authority added.

The commission logged no new confirmed domestically transmitted confirmed cases as of yesterday. It also reported zero asymptomatic cases under observation.
