(Yicai Global) Feb. 7 --  Shanghai has confirmed another 12 new cases of the novel coronavirus as of yesterday, bringing the total to 269, the Shanghai Health Commission announced this morning.

Among the total, one has died, 18 remain in a critical state, 25 are fully recovered and have been discharged from hospital, and 225 are in stable condition.

The patients are aged between seven months and 88 years of age and include 140 men and 129 women.

Some 134 have lived in or visited Hubei province, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, 114 have had close contact with other patients, and 19 have lived in or visited other provinces or regions. Two patients are under epidemiological Investigation to trace the origins, the health commission said.

As of yesterday, 773 suspected cases have been cleared and 166 suspected cases are still undergoing further tests.
