(Yicai Global) Oct. 13 -- Shanghai's health and beauty industry is set to reach a capacity of over 100 billion units by 2025, according to guidance issued by the city government.

By then, the city will have set up a platform covering the sector's entire industrial chain, fostered at least 10 key enterprises with annual revenue of more than CNY10 billion (USD1.52 billion) and three to five leading enterprises with revenue of CNY50 billion or more, China Securities reported today. The city will develop more than 10 internationally renowned brands and domestic firms will command a 50 percent market share, the report reads.

The document also highlights the construction of Oriental Beauty Valley in Shanghai's Fengxian District, forecasting the industrial park to reach a capacity of 50 billion by 2020 and 100 billion by 2025.

Fengxian is also home to Gulf National Forest Park, the city's largest national park. Oriental Beauty Valley was founded in 2015 and used the abundance of natural resources to help form an industrial cluster covering cosmetics and skincare, perfume, daily chemical products, healthcare products and biomedicines.

The city's beauty and health industry will also extend to include fitness tests, the cultural and creativity sector and other special services, the guidance added.
