(Yicai Global) Nov. 3 -- The beauty and health industry in Shanghai is expected to generate an output of roughly CNY100 billion (USD15 billion) by 2025, and a the policy briefing on the beauty and health industry in Shanghai indicates that "Oriental Beauty Valley" will serve as a core base for the big health industry in Shanghai, which aims to become the largest cluster of the industry in China and eventually across Asia, with independent intellectual property rights, jiemian.com reported today. 

Located in Fengxian District of Shanghai, the Oriental Beauty Valley is an industrial park for beauty and health industry, which spans whole Fengxian District and is composed of products, services, and industries related to the concept of beauty and health. Currently, over one quarter of the cosmetics enterprises are gathered here, whose total production value accounts for more than 40 percent, thus earning Shanghai the title of "Capital of Cosmetics." During the first three quarters of 2017, some 73 enterprises above designated size in the Oriental Beauty Valley have registered a total output of USD2.4 billion.

Gu Yi, deputy district head of Fengxian District, said the current industrial system of the Oriental Beauty Valley consists of three levels, which include research and development of products, production, packaging, selling, and supporting services of procurement of raw materials, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) production, brand promotion, and businesses in beauty care, medical care and trade circulation.

In the future, the Oriental Beauty Valley will further expand the value chain in beauty and health industry, by developing bio-medicine health products, green food, medical equipment and sports equipment industry, and expanding online health testing, cultural creativity, research and development design, special services for beauty indicators, and the third-party application services, among others.

In terms of the plan released previously by Shanghai Government, the beauty and health industry in Shanghai is expected to generate an output of roughly CNY100 billion by 2025, to which the Oriental Beauty Valley will contribute USD7.57 billion by 2020 and USD15.1 billion by 2025.
