(Yicai Global) Nov. 25 -- Eastern China's Shanghai has established a new bourse to trade data with about 100 debuting products.

The products involve eight categories, including finance, transport, and communications, the Securities Times reported today.

The Shanghai Data Exchange features the first system of its kind in China, covering data transactions, compliance consulting, and asset appraisal. The bourse aims to solve key issues in ownership, pricing, mutual trust, market access, and regulation.

Transactions took place already on the first day. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Shanghai Electric Power made a deal about electric mapping. Sharing utility data helps commercial banks to develop corporate financial products and services.

The first partners include technology companies, law firms, and professional service providers. Some of the parties that the Shanghai Data Exchange has penned agreements with are aviation company China Eastern Airlines, Co-Effort Law Firm, King & Wood Mallesons, and Zhong Lun Law Firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Fu Data Technology, UCloud, and Transwarp Technology.
